Waiver Periods

Returning Medical Students: Fall - 04/18/2023 - 05/22/2023

New Medical Students: Fall - 07/17/2023 - 07/31/2023

Spring - 11/13/2023 - 11/27/2023

The Spring/Summer Students 23-24 waiver deadline ended 11/27/2023. The online waiver system can no longer accept new waiver requests.

Guidelines:

1. Medical coverage must be currently active.
2. Medical coverage must be ACA Compliant.

Acceptable Plans:

1. Employer-sponsored group plans
2. Marketplace plans (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum plans)
3. New York Medicaid (NJ, CT Medicaid are approvable plans)

If your alternate coverage meets the above minimum requirements, submit electronic copies of the following document(s) with your online waiver request:

• An electronic copy of the front and back of your health insurance ID card indicating the student as a covered member.
• Proof of coverage, such as a coverage letter, or certificate may be required to verify active coverage.
